Terms of Service

1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Open World Industries LLC ("ApplyOS," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using ApplyOS, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use ApplyOS.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you may only make a purchase with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian responsible for the payment method used. By using ApplyOS, you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. What ApplyOS is
ApplyOS provides resume, cover letter, LinkedIn, and job-search guidance tools for informational purposes only. ApplyOS does not guarantee interviews, employment, salary outcomes, or hiring decisions. Some suggestions are generated with the assistance of third-party AI providers (see Section 10); you are responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving anything before you submit it as part of a real job application.
4. Scores & AI outputs
Match scores, readiness scores, and similar metrics are estimates based on resume content, job descriptions, formatting, and keyword alignment. They are not guarantees of recruiter review, applicant tracking system behavior, or hiring outcomes, which vary by employer and are outside our control. AI-generated suggestions may contain errors or inaccuracies; you are solely responsible for verifying accuracy before use. ApplyOS never submits applications on your behalf without your explicit action.
5. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, are used fraudulently, or are inactive for an extended period, with notice where reasonably practicable.
6. Subscriptions, billing & cancellation
Paid plans are billed through Stripe. Pro Monthly and Pro Yearly are recurring subscriptions that renew automatically until cancelled; Student Semester is a one-time payment granting access through the stated period with no automatic renewal. You can cancel a recurring subscription at any time from the billing portal, and you'll keep access through the end of the period you already paid for. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial billing periods except as described below or where required by law.
7. Interview Readiness Promise (refund/credit policy)
If you complete the full recommended ApplyOS checklist (scan, apply the priority fixes, export, and tailor a cover letter) for the applications you're targeting during your paid period, and you still feel unprepared, contact us at the email below within 14 days of your purchase (or, for subscriptions, within 14 days of your most recent charge). We will work with you on an extension of access or a credit at our discretion. This is our sole refund/credit mechanism for dissatisfaction with outcomes; it does not limit any non-waivable refund rights you have under the law of your jurisdiction.
8. Resume export formats
Resume formats are inspired by common university career-services resume conventions and general ATS-friendly formatting practices. No university, employer, or ATS provider endorsement is implied.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to: submit false or fraudulent information as your own qualifications; use ApplyOS to harass, defraud, or impersonate anyone; attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, or resell the service; circumvent usage limits or payment; or use ApplyOS for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend accounts that violate this section.
10. Third-party services & AI processing
ApplyOS relies on third-party providers to operate: Supabase (accounts and data storage), Stripe (payment processing), Resend (transactional email), Upstash (rate limiting), and, where enabled, OpenAI (AI-assisted writing suggestions). Resume text and job descriptions you submit may be sent to these providers solely to generate your results. See our Privacy Policy for details. We are not responsible for outages or errors originating from these third parties.
11. Intellectual property
You retain all rights to the resume content, job descriptions, and other material you submit. You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to provide the service to you. ApplyOS and its software, design, and branding are owned by Open World Industries LLC and may not be copied or redistributed without permission.
12. No affiliation
ApplyOS is an independent product of Open World Industries LLC. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any applicant tracking system provider, university, employer, or competitor brand.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
ApplyOS is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that scores or AI suggestions will be accurate or lead to any particular outcome.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Open World Industries LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of income, employment opportunity, or data, arising from your use of ApplyOS. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $50, whichever is greater.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless a different consumer-protection law mandatorily applies to you based on where you live.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
